Au Pair in the UK

Who Can Apply?

You can be an au pair in the UK if you:

• are between the ages of 17-27

• enjoy caring for children

• have completed secondary school

• speak at least a basic level of English

• have no criminal record

• hold citizenship of one of the following countries: Andorra, Austria, Belgium, Bosnia-Herzegovia, Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, The Faroes, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Greenland, Hungary, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Liechtenstein, Luxembourg, Macedonia, Malta, Monaco, The Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, San Marino, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland and Turkey.

Most families will not accept a smoker. You must not smoke on the program unless the host family has signed an agreement with you stating it is OK to smoke during the program year.
